Main Objective of Craps
The main object in craps is for the shooter - the person rolling the dice - to roll a 7 or an 11 on the first roll. These numbers are an automatic win.
A 2, 3, or 12 - called craps - roll is an automatic loss.
Any other number becomes the point. The object of the point round is for the shooter to roll the point before he/she rolls a 7.
The shooter will continue throwing until either the point number or a seven is rolled. Craps games are sometimes very lengthy if the shooter keeps rolling numbers that aren't the point or a 7.
The winners are determined by whether players placed their bets for rolling a 7 first or for rolling the point first.
This is the most basic object of craps, all the other betting options and advanced strategies can be learned as you become more comfortable with the game.
There are two main rounds in a game of craps. The first round - the Come Out round- where the object is to roll a 7 or 11, and not a 2, 3, or 12. And the second round - the Point round - with the objective of rolling the point before a 7.
Within these two rounds there is just one fundamental bet. Not as complicated as it looks, right?
