Craps Betting Advice
|
After you have a basic understanding of craps and know the fundamental goals of the game, you can begin to incorporate the various more-advanced betting options into your strategies. The following are a list of the different betting choices a craps player can make, along with their explanations.

Any Seven
A bet that the next roll will be a seven.

Any Craps
A bet that the next roll will be ‘craps' - a 2, 3, or 12
Behind the Line
A free odds bet - when the house has no advantage - after the come out roll and when the point has already been established.
Big 6
An even money bet that a 6 will be rolled before a 7.
Big 8
An even money bet that an 8 will be rolled before a 7.
Center Bets
The betting possibilities located in the center of the table layout, also referred to as proposition bets.
Come Bet
A bet made after the come out roll that the dice will pass.
Don't Come Bet
A bet made after the come out roll that the dice won't pass.
Don't Pass Bet
A bet made before the come out roll that the dice won't bass.
Double Odds
A free odds bet that doubles the original amount.
Field Bet
A one roll bet that the next roll will be a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12.
Five Times Odds
A free odds bet that is five times the original amount's bet.
Hardway Bet
A bet that a 4, 6, 8, or 10 roll will be an even (hard) pair on the dice before a 7 or a non-pair (easy) of the numbers will be rolled. For the 4, 6, 8, or 10 dice possibilities a hardway bet for each of them would be 2+2, 3+3, 4+4, or 5+5, respectively.
Hop Bet
A one roll bet that the next dice roll will not be in the center layout.
Horn Bet
A one roll bet that the next dice roll will be a 2, 3, 11, or 12.
Horn High Bet
A one roll bet with 5 divisions of wagers; with 3 bets on the horn numbers and 2 divisions of the bet being placed on 12 - the high number.
Lay Bet
A wrong bet that a 7 will be rolled before the number.
Lay the Odds
A free odds wrong bet against a number.
One Roll Bet
A bet that the final outcome will be established after one roll.
Place Bet to win
A bet placed on one of these specific numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 and betting it will be rolled before a 7.
Place Bet to lose
A bet that a 7 will be rolled before one of these specified numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10.
Sequence Bet
A bet in which the outcome may not be established in one roll but may need a series of rolls.
Single Odds
A free odds bet that is the same as the original bet, also referred to as 1X odds.
Ten Times Odds
A free odds bet that is ten times the original amount's bet.
Triple Odds
A free odds bet that triples the original amount.
World Bet
A one roll bet, with 5 divisions, that the next roll will be a 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 with one division wagered on each number.
3-way Craps Bet
A one roll bet with 3 divisions of wagers; with 1 division bet on the 2, one on 3, and one on 12. A Horn Bet that excludes the 11.
